The Position

The successful Senior Software Developer (Back End) will join our agile team focused on the development of a new scalable SaaS platform that is being designed to become market leader in its field. The work involves the design and development of a solution built on a scalable Java microservices architecture. 

Candidate Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • Proficiency in core Java and understanding of OO concepts 
  • Experience with application/servlet containers such as Apache Tomcat, ServiceMix, FuseESB
  • Experience with a Linux-based OS such as CentOS/RHEL and Ubuntu
  • Linux shell scripting (e.g. Bash) 
  • A strong experience working with APIs such as SOAP/XML, REST/JSON
  • Experience with tools such as Git, Maven, and Eclipse 
  • Database skills such as PostgreSQL or any other RDBMS
  • Experience of working with continuous integration and test-driven development 
  • A passion for software development, with the ability to learn/adapt to newer languages/technologies 

Nice to have: 

  • Atlassian Jira for project and issue management 
  • Knowledge of OSGi, writing modular applications, and SOA
  • Experience with platforms and technologies such as AWS/EC2, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with projects such as Apache Camel, Docker, Kubernetes, and Hazelcast
  • Knowledge of NoSQL DB such as ElasticSearch and MongoDB
  • A Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering degree
  • Experience with any front-end based technologies
