We’re looking for a skilled and driven PHP Symfony Team Lead to join our ever-expanding team of expert IT professionals based in Makati. The Position
The successful PHP Symfony Team Lead will be tasked to:
- Build and maintain Wren’s custom-built, cutting-edge applications (Symfony 3/4 based)
- Write clean code that is clear and understandable by others
- Contribute to project specifications and estimations
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Work with business stakeholders and the development team to understand the initial scope for a new project
- Mentor and support junior members of the team
Candidate Requirements
Experience and Knowledge
Essential:
- A team lead or project lead experience, or currently a senior developer ready to move into a team lead role
- At least 5+ years of experience in creating and maintaining object-oriented PHP 5/7 based systems
- Experience of using the Symfony 3, Symfony 4 or equivalent framework
- Experience of working with MySQL 5+
- Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS/LESS or SASS, JavaScript and Ajax
- Experience of using Version Control systems such as Git as part of a team
- Knowledge of the Doctrine 2 ORM
- Experience in creating and maintaining RESTful APIs and JSON
- Experience of automated testing (preferably PHPUnit and Behat/Selenium)
- Design patterns knowledge and practical experience implementing them
- Experience of Agile project methodologies and its impact on iterative design
- Experience of working in a continuous integration environment
- Familiar with Linux or Mac OS
Desirable:
- Experience of retail and/or manufacturing environments and processes
- Experience with Redis, Elastic Search, Rabbit MQ, Mongo DB
- Bachelor's Degree
Skills & Attributes
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills–must be able to describe technical issues to a non-technical audience
- Ability to mentor and support more junior members covering technical and non-technical skills
- Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
- Ability to work as part of an Agile team
- A passion for adhering to coding standards and clean code
- Has a keen eye for detail
Desirable:
- Has previously worked for a retailer and knows retail processes
